Despite all the acrimonious discussion before Ramadan in North America, those who followed the opinions on plurality of moonsighting, ISNA’s calculations, and local moonsighting fasted 30 days. A minority of those that followed local moonsighting fasted 29 days.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta ala accept all of our fasts and help us to fast the six days of Shawwal. Ameen.
The cool thing about this video is that if you look closely you actually can see the sliver of the new moon of Shawwal. Makes me want to go out to sight the moon here, too.
