Masaud Khan – In His Own Words From Prison

Masaud Khan has been transferred to a special facility in Indiana for terrorism-related cases.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

I hope you are all doing well and in the best of faith. I myself am doing well and am grateful to Allah for all His blessings. Please don’t interpret my lack of communication with you as one of indifference for Allah knows you are ever in my duas. I must also express the gratitude of my co-defendants who are from Virginia and mentioned that Maryland was the most supportive of them, ICM specifically.

I spend much of my time in trying to gain as much knowledge as possible along with exercising regularly. Most of the people here are Muslim so the atmosphere is peaceful for the most part. We are able to get fresh air on a daily basis and enjoy the weather and nature. I am also enjoying the visits from my family and am able to watch my son grow up. I am also able to keep up with events in the world via radio so I’m updated in that regard. As you can see, I really can’t complain about my situation not to mention that there are many people in far worse condition.

We are also able to congregate for Friday prayers and our meals are adequate. The only real complaints from people here is the lack of phone time allowed , non-contact visits and the slow mail process. If you have any questions about anything in particular over here, I would be more than happy to write about that particular aspect in detail.

Until then I ask Allah to grant us sincerity in all our affairs thereby rectifying them and I ask Him to protect you all from all harm and to preserve you.

Sincerely, your brother in Islam,

Masoud Khan (6-25-07)

  1. I know brother Masaud Khan personally, as he was a family friend. I was only a child when I last saw him, and I was really shocked to hear that he was incarcerated for life… I couldn’t believe it… I still think about him and can’t bear the fact that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.. I feel for his mother, wife, brothers, sister and son. What a difficult trial this poor brother has to endure… Brother Masaud, although I cannot visualise what you are going through, i just want to say please be strong and keep asking God Almighty for His help. I remember you in my prayers brother, and have confidence in you….
