most Muslim Americans do not support terrorism. Despite the years of unqualified but ineffective condemnations of terrorism by ordinary Muslims and Muslim organizations and contrary to the constant refrains of the islamophobes in the media, new research from the Pew Research Center concludes that Muslim Americans are relatively well-integrated, educated, and productive members of the larger American society.
Some other findings:
- Muslim Americans tend to be critical of US foreign policy and the purported aims of the war on terror.
- Younger Muslim Americans are less likely to condemn suicide bombings.
- The majority of Muslim American have been subject to some form of discrimination due to their religion although many report expressions of support for them or their faith from other Americans.
